Company verification guide

How to Verify a Company's Identity, Registration, and Official Web Presence

Strong verification combines legal or trading name, official registry evidence where available, official website or domain, country, and activity. Do not treat a similar name or a single page as sufficient proof.

For research, sales, procurement, and partnership teams that need to reduce the risk of associating data with the wrong business entity.

1. Separate brand and legal identity

A business may use a brand name different from its registered entity, and several stores may operate under one entity. Record the relationship instead of assuming every visible name is a separate legal company.

2. Use official sources for official questions

When you need to verify registration or commercial-register details in Saudi Arabia, use the Ministry of Commerce service or the appropriate government source. Official sources differ by country.

3. Match official web presence to the company

Review about, contact, address, and company-name information on the site and compare it with registry or other evidence. A professional domain is useful evidence but does not by itself prove registration.

4. Verify country and activity independently

Use address, phone information, official records, and website content as separate signals. Do not treat a country-code domain or site language alone as conclusive country evidence.

5. Record conflicts and confidence

If name, country, or activity conflicts across sources, do not hide the discrepancy. Record the stronger evidence and what remains uncertain, then re-check before important decisions.

Useful official resources

Use government and official sources for legal registration verification when needed. ArabData is not a government registry.

Frequently asked questions

Does an official-looking website prove a company is registered?

No. A website is evidence of digital presence; official registration should be checked through the appropriate government source when required.

What if the brand name differs from the registered name?

Look for evidence linking the brand to the entity, such as legal information, an about page, or available official records, and record the relationship rather than merging names without evidence.

Does ArabData replace an official business registry?

No. ArabData is a commercial research and evidence-organization tool; the relevant official registry or government source remains the authority for official verification.
